Swan Emergency Alert System

Project Overview

The purpose of the Swan Emergency Alert System (SEAS) Project is to develop and maintain a database of information to help emergency responders alert, locate, and assist Swan Valley residents in fire, medical, and other emergencies. The SEAS Database contains information about residents and properties within the Swan Valley Fire Service Area and is for use by the Swan Valley Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Services Quick Response Unit (QRU), DNRC at Swan River State Forest, and other firefighting agencies.

Neighborhood calling lists were developed in 2000 so that residents could be alerted in times of emergency. The SEAS project was undertaken in 2005 to update and expand the neighborhood calling lists developed in 2000. To date, records for approximately 550 residents have been entered into the SEAS Database using Excel, and up-to-date neighborhood lists have been printed.

Maintenance of the SEAS Database will be an ongoing project. We are now verifying the information collected from residents since 2006. We are also collecting information from residents who did not return SEAS Contact Forms in 2006 in response to the initial request for information mailed in 2006, or who have moved into the Fire Service Area since then. Corrections to resident information will be entered into the SEAS Database periodically and new lists will be printed.

The SEAS Project is a joint effort of Swan Ecosystem Center (SEC), DNRC/Swan Valley State Forest and Swan Valley Senior Services (SVSS). Funding for the project has been provided by SEC and by SVSS. Volunteers have contributed over 550 hours to this project.

If you would like to be included in the SEAS database, download the SEAS Contact Form below (PDF format, 43 Kbs) and follow the instructions on page 2. Return the completed form to Swan Ecosystem Center.
