Renowned fly fisherman, Les Rutledge, well known throughout western Montana and nationally by the hundreds of clients that he has instructed over the years will return to the Swan again this summer to conduct his annual fly fishing clinic. Les is a professional fly tier, fly fishing guide and instructor as well as an instructor for Fish, Wildlife & Park's Angler Education Program.

The class will begin at the U.S.Forest Servcie Condon Work Center on July 13, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. After a short review of the life cycle of an aquatic insect and the artificial nymphs and flies needed to replicate each stage of development, a discussion of equipment, and casting practice, participants will grab lunches and portable seating and head for the Swan River.  Here on site, Les will demonstrate successful techniques and coach each participant as he/she fishes the river. Suggested donation is $25/person or $40/couple. The deadline to sign up is July 9th. For more information or to sign up, call Swan Ecosystem Center at (406) 754-3137.
