Fire

Forests in the Swan Valley and the native plant and animal species the forests support are adapted to fire. Living in the Swan Valley has inherent risks. SEC's role is to help landowners reduce the risk of wildfire while maintaining many of the natural amenities their properties provide. During forest fires, SEC serves as a liaison between fire-fighting agencies and the community.

Recent fires include:

2006 Holland Peak along the Swan Mountain Range

2003 Crazy Horse in the Mission Mountains
