Anne Dahl, President/Secretary
Anne oversees work of the SEC staff and is an officer of the Board of Directors. She is a member of the Board's Executive Committee. Anne's roles include project oversight, fundraising and outreach. She is the chief spokesperson for the organization. |

Cookie Beers, Finance Consultant
Cookie arrived at SEC exactly when we needed her most. She created order out of chaos. Cookie developed better financial tracking systems and set up internal controls for handling SEC's finances. She provided excellent guidance on how to clearly demonstrate SEC's financial strengths. Cookie works with outside CPA's and auditors for tax and financial reporting. Cookie is a retired CPA.

Paula Clarke, Visitor Services
Paula's primary role at SEC is to serve the public. Paula helps people learn about and enjoy SEC's programs. She provides residents and visitors with information about trails and campsites, and she responds to inquiries about bears and other wildlife. Paula sells maps, firewood permits, books and gifts at SEC's Visitor Center. She provides help and support to SEC staff in program development. Paula assists with Web site planning and updates.

Diann Ericson, Education Coordinator
Diann works to enhance the awareness of the natural history and natural resources of the Swan Valley for residents and visitors. Diann's training as an educator helps her plan and organize informative and entertaining programs and workshops. Youth programs are age-appropriate and designed to complement Montana's school curriculum. The goal of all youth programs is to spend valuable time outdoors.

Leanna Grubaugh, Visitor Services
Leanna serves the public by providing information, answering questions and selling items at SEC's Visitor Center. She assists Betsy with office systems and SEC's computer network. Leanna works on special projects for Cookie and assists Mike with match details for multiple grants. Leanna coordinates volunteer hours and mileage matches, as well as balancing cash and deposits plus creating thank you letters to donors.

Roger Marshall, Stewardship Forester
With over 30 years of forestry experience working in the Seeley and Swan Valleys, Roger provides expert opinion on forestland conditions and guidance for landowners. With grant funds available for landowners at SEC, he helps develop stewardship plans to improve forest health, enhance tree vigor and growth, reduce wildfire risk, control invasive weeds, protect water quality, upgrade roads, and maintain quality fish and wildlife habitat. Funded projects are monitored and evaluated to assure they provide for the long term sustainability of Swan Valley ecosystems.

Mike Palladini, Land Steward
Mike assists Swan Valley landowners with development of conservation and forest management plans, protection and restoration of wetland and stream resources, and completion of on-the-ground forest health and fuels reduction projects, utilizing grant funds available for landowners at SEC. In addition, Mike organizes and facilitates the Swan Lands Coordinating Committee (SLCC), the Swan Valley's local stakeholders group, as well as the Forest Stewardship and Wetlands subcommittees of the SLCC. Mike holds a Master of Science Degree in wildlife biology. He spent eight years working on bird research and conservation projects in coniferous forest, riparian and coastal habitats around the West before joining SEC.

Uwe Schaefer, Director of Finance, Uwe joined the staff in mid-March to serve as director of finance. He replaced Cookie Beers, who retired (for the second time). Uwe tracks income, expenses, billing and match details for multiple grants. He prepares payroll information, pays for bills and reimbursements, plus prepares financial reports for grants. Uwe prepares monthly reports for the Board of Directors and works with SEC's Board to prepare the annual budgets. He coordinates with the Treasurer to manage and track investments. In addition to his accounting responsibilities, Uwe will help with fundraising. He lives in Kalispell with his wife and two children.

Betsy Spettigue, Wildlife Program Coordinator & Office Manager
Betsy coordinates the Wildlife Program including Living with Wildlife, Swan Valley Bear Resources and the Wildlife subcommittee of the Swan Lands Coordinating Committee. She manages office issues, including staff supervision, computer and phone systems, operations and maintenance, SEC's Web site updates and the Community Calendar. Betsy assists with fundraising and outreach.

Ali Vissichelli, AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer
Ali coordinates the development of a Watershed Restoration Plan for the Swan Lake Watershed. The plan will focus on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. The scope of the plan will account from the entire watershed, from the Swan-Clearwater Divide to the outlet of Swan Lake, between the ridge tops of the Mission and Swan Ranges. The plan is being developed through the subcommittees of the Swan Lands Coordinating Committee and with input from Swan Valley residents. It will be a comprehensive plan to aid in funding and actuating restoration projects. |
